obligatory information and guidance

The scope of our business is exclusively a legal practice (in Czech: “výkon advokacie”) as defined in the Legal Profession Act (Act No. 85/1996 Coll. on legal profession), as amended.

We practice legal profession in accordance with s. 15 of the Legal Profession Act as partners of the company miller & miller advokáti, s.r.o., registered in the commercial register administered by the Municipal Court in Prague under Ref. No. 335129, ID: 09360859, seat: Pražská 777, 252 64 Velké Přílepy.

Apart from legal regulations, namely the Civil Code and the Legal Profession Act, we are also bound by professional rules, a list of which can be found on the website of the Czech Bar Association www.cak.cz/en in the section “professional rules”.

We provide clients with all the necessary or legally requested guidance in a Legal Services Agreement that we execute in writing in accordance with our insurance conditions. Said guidance relate namely to a conflict of interests (s. 19 of the Legal Profession Act), obligation of confidentiality (s. 21 of the Legal Profession Act), insurance of professional liability at a practice of legal profession (s. 24a and 24b of the Legal Profession Act) as well as an alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes.

However, you will inevitably disclose certain information to us before entering into a Legal Services Agreement. Such information will primarily include your personal data in order for us to verify whether we are not in a conflict of interest and to be able to communicate with you. For such a purpose, we request only an essential minimum, usually your name and surname only. Subsequently, we will be informed of your phone number or your electronic contact details.

We are obliged to process your personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

Our company miller & miller advokáti, s.r.o. will be both a controller and a processor of your personal data. Even the mere saving of personal data is considered processing, so your personal data will inevitably be processed.

Processing of your personal data is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations that ensue from the aforementioned legal and professional rules we are bound by. We will not process your personal data beyond that purpose.

We will be pleased if you become our clients and conclude a Legal Service Agreement with us in writing, which will contain all the necessary guidance. If you do not become our clients, for whatever reason, we will stop processing your personal data without you having to specifically request it.
